![]() And, please help me solve this problem!! I will do my best to provide all of the information you need. Please tell me if I need anymore information. This did stop the orange exclamation next to the Aud Driver finding itself, and I did the reboot, and started the PC again, and the computer installed "Legacy Audio Codecs" and other drivers, and say they are working properly, but I have no sound working, and when I run a program such as Sound Recorder, or Volume Control, I am presented with an error saying I have no Audio Mixer installed. I did the process, and followed each step this person took. I have read another thread, with the same problem, but for another type of machine, and a person found a possible (but non working solution), please read so you are on the same level here.Īfter almost becoming desperate looking for a solution, and by try-and-error, my brother Héctor has managed to solve the question:ġ- Download hdaudbus.sys version 5.10 (easy to find via emule), be sure is from Microsoft Corp, size 135 KB.Ģ- Copy/paste and remove newer version 6.0 from C:\\Windows\system32\DRIVERSģ- Install Realtek drivers for XP, and, if asked, maintain older version.Ĥ- Done! You will probably asked to reboot, after hearing a typical xp sound. Everything is working fine and all my drivers are backed up except for my High Definition Audio Controller. Then I went ahead and did a clean install of Windows XP Professional edition. ![]() a lot of the programs I need to use aren't compatible with Vista yet, so I had no choice but to reformat. I recently upgraded Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 in order to get a lot of things working, and after a fatal Windows Virus. At 48Khz the latency increases to 0.5ms.Hi Def Audio Driver isn't working since I 'UPGRADED' Vista to XP Pro SP2 The latency seems to be better at 192Khz and 96Hkz. Click the "SB" icon in the system tray to get the "Sound Blaster Z-Series Control Panel", select the "Speakers/Headphones" tab, select "Stereo Direct" under "Speakers / Headphones Configuration". Even with all effects turned off, if any mode other than Stereo Direct is used, there is at least 10ms of latency. To get 0 latency, Stereo Direct mode must be used. Future versions of Presentation will play silence in Shared mode before playing the main audio to ensure that the sound card was already running, avoiding this issue. This is due to a bug in the sound card driver which only occurred when the sound card was not already running when Presentation started it. Older versions of Presentation would have an issue with this sound card in Shared mode (not Exclusive mode) unless some other program happened to be playing sound, where the sounds would play 10ms early. To get low latency, Stereo Direct mode must be used. 44100Hz mode bumps the average latency up to 1ms. 96Khz mode bumps the average latency up to 0.2ms min, 0.4ms max. The chosen sound mode frequency affects the latency. Run Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx Control Panel application, select the Stereo Direct / Bit Accurate tab, and make sure the checkbox is checked. To get these results, the sound card must be in "Stereo Direct / Bit Accurate Playback" mode. The sound card performs identically in 16, 24 and 32-bit modes. For a USB sound card, this performs fairly well. Use Exclusive Mode if you can, but the jitter for Shared Mode here is not bad. ![]() Tests conducted by Neurobehavioral Systems CardĮxpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio To submit a test report, please log in and return to this page. As discussed in the Presentation documentation, very low latency playbackĬan only be achieved in the "DirectX Hardware", "Custom - Primary", and "Custom - Secondary Hardware" mixing modes. These results will in general apply to any hardware-independent stimulus delivery software The following test results are based on the SCLA utility program and test Compatible Devices System Recommendations LabStreamer NBS Wiki
